A white cat sits in a blue basket with a tiny mouse close by, a sweet bit of household drama in porcelain. Cat, mouse and basket were all brushed with color by hand in Limoges, France, on this porcelain Limoges box.
A Basket Claimed by Whiskers
Every cat owner knows the sight of a cat claiming a basket as its own. Here the white cat has found its spot, while the mouse adds a playful twist, as if waiting for its chance to slip past unseen. The contrast of the white coat against the blue basket gives the piece a crisp, fresh look.

Fireside Feline Company
Set it on a windowsill where the real cat likes to sun, on a bedside table, or on a bookshelf among other feline figurines. It makes a heartwarming present for a new kitten owner, a remembrance of a beloved cat, or a thank-you for a pet sitter. A friend who volunteers at the animal shelter would also appreciate it.
