Pink stripes circle a porcelain egg that opens onto an upright oval photo frame. This hand-painted Limoges box was made in Limoges, France, and it gives a favorite family picture a bright, cheerful home.
Stripes Framing a Smile
The neat stripes on the shell give this egg a fresh, tailored look, while the vertical frame inside is shaped for a portrait. The stripes are painted by hand, so their spacing and tone shift a little from egg to egg.
Pictures That Belong Inside
A first school photo of a grandchild, a newborn's hospital portrait or a snapshot from a wedding day all fit the frame well. Many owners swap the picture over the years as the family grows.
